Biography
Martha is the Director of Equity and Inclusion, where her work focuses on building and sustaining inclusive communities. An historian, too, Martha loves teaching – inside and outside of the classroom. She is excited to be joining SBS and is looking forward to our community conversations this year. She has worked in independent schools for close to thirty years; along with her teaching and DEI work, Martha has experience in residential life, athletics, and advising. She has presented at the NAIS Annual Conference, TABS Global Symposium, and AISNE Signature Conferences. Martha holds a bachelor’s degree from Bates College and a master of arts in teaching from Smith College. Fun fact: Martha has traveled to 48 countries and 48 states.
