Meet the Directors
Aya Yamasaki and Jason Brown have been making animation together for over 15 years. They have worked as independent animators creating commercial animations for a wide variety of clients and personal films that have screened at film festivals all over the world. They have run animation workshops and camps for children and adults for over 10 years. This will be their fourth camp at Stoneleigh-Burnham School.
Learn about Camp
Animation Day Camp: Animation focuses on 2D, hand-drawn animation. It covers the basics of what animation is and a variety of techniques for creating it. Over the course of a week, campers work on a number of animation exercises as well as a *short* cumulative project. In addition to practicing the fundamentals, there is time dedicated to experimentation and exploring other forms of animation.
Animation Day Intensive: Animation Intensive is a continuation of Animation, and those looking to join need to take the first week or be able to demonstrate a level of knowledge of basic animation concepts and techniques. The week-long camp continues practicing hand-drawn animation but also focuses on compiling and compositing frames, backgrounds and other elements.
