Marissa serves as a Visual Arts Teacher at Stoneleigh-Burnham School. She holds an Ed.M. in Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology with an Arts and Learning Concentration from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a B.A. in Art with a minor in Visual and Performing Arts Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. Marissa has worked in both formal and informal learning spaces as a teaching artist, after school teacher, teaching fellow, and art museum educator. From her experience teaching at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston and Hammer Museum, she has developed a love for inquiry-based learning through the arts. Marissa’s own practice explores the relationship between different mediums, including embroidery, paint, clay, and fabric. She has exhibited as well as curated solo and group exhibitions across the U.S. Additionally, she received the Harold M. Williams Endowed Scholarship at the University of California, Los Angeles for her commitment to the field of arts education. Marissa will be living on campus this year as a Houseparent. |
