Beginning/Intermediate (Beg/Int) Dance introduces students to a variety of dance techniques and vocabulary to build upon their existing foundation of dance skills. The class is appropriate for both absolute beginners and students with some preliminary dance experience. Dancers are placed into either Advanced Dance or Beg/Int Dance after a placement class at the beginning of each term. Beg/Int Dance gets students moving during the school day and improves their flexibility, body awareness, and overall fitness. The class is designed to be fun and to help students overcome any self-consciousness they may have about dancing. The dancers learn ballet, contemporary, and jazz dance techniques as well as some hip-hop, yoga, and Pilates. The Beg/Int Dance class performs once per term.
