Meg works in the Performing Arts Department where she supports student vocalists and instrumentalists and assists with the winter play. Outside school, Meg sings with a local hospice choir, plays piano and pipe organ at a nearby church, and records vocals and keys for various independent recording projects, including garage rock bands, synth-pop groups, and horror film soundtracks. She has performed as a pianist and vocalist throughout the US and Europe. Meg has a B.A. in Western Music and an M.M. in Collaborative Piano from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and trained in the Lovetri Method of Somatic Voicework at Baldwin Wallace University. What would you be doing otherwise? I would be a monk in some type of silent monastery with a meditative chanting tradition. Fun fact? I have timbral synesthesia—I see moving colors when I hear music, and the timbre of the sounds determines the colors. Why SBS? I was drawn to the school's mission of ensuring every student's voice is heard. |
