You Asked and We Heard You!

SBS's new Director of Dance Hayley Descavich ’08 is reviving the Community Dance Program for local students ages 5-18. Beginning in September, a variety of dance classes will be offered on the Stoneleigh-Burnham campus.

Middle and high school Community Dance students learn alongside Stoneleigh-Burnham School students and have the opportunity to take part in three performances over the course of the year. Modern, ballet, and jazz classes meet on weekdays, excluding Wednesdays, which are reserved for young dancers ages 5-11.

Hayley shares, "I was once a student of this program, and it made me fall in love with dance, and I can't wait to share that love with my students."

Stoneleigh-Burnham dance students will have opportunities to investigate the world around them, to process life events, and to cultivate meaning in their lives. At SBS, the performing arts classes are community-oriented, nonhierarchical, body-positive, and culturally relevant.

Registration is now open, and classes will begin on September 5, 2023. To register or learn more about the Community Dance Program at SBS, please contact Director of Dance Hayley Descavich ’08 via email at [email protected] or phone at 413.475.1671.
