For the third time in five years, the Varsity Soccer team has won the RVAL Championship by defeating the Academy at Charlemont by a score of 4-0. The team completed the championship run by shutting out every team they faced in the tournament. On Wednesday, October 29th, the #1 ranked Owls defeated #8 Buxton School by a score of 5-0 in the quarterfinal. On Friday, October 31st, the team defeated #4 Eagle Hill by a score of 5-0 in the semifinal, before facing Charlemont in the final.
The Stoneleigh-Burnham Owls finished their season with a record of 10 wins, 6 losses, and 2 ties.
The final game was played on a blustery, cold day in front of a supportive home crowd. Senior Rosemary Ilang had 2 goals, junior Sophie Spring had 1 goal, and 8th grader Juliana Merullo also had 1 goal. 10th grader Olivia Young played a great tournament and made several key saves in the final game. Congratulations to the entire time!
