July 7 – 12, 2019
Overnight summer camp for girls ages 12 – 16
The SBS summer Art Intensive is an opportunity for aspiring visual artists to try their hand at various 2d and 3d projects, learning about form, colors, and various techniques for creating art. It’s a great opportunity both for the experienced artist who would like to refine her techniques, or the less experienced student who would like to sample various projects.
The summer Art Intensive offers opportunities in drawing, painting, clay, mixed media, and more. A lengthy morning project in the artist’s area of focus will be balanced with shorter, more spontaneous afternoon electives in various disciplines.
Students will have the chance to experience:
- Clay in our Ceramics studio
- Digital Photography
- Fiber Arts – Weaving/Knitting
- Daily recreation time for swimming, relaxing, and exercise
- Fun evening activities – some arts related, others just for fun!
- An off-campus outing to a local gallery/museum
- Personal attention and instruction from fun, experienced instructors
Our week will end with a showing of our work in collaboration with the Animation Intensive for parents and the SBS community in our Geissler Gallery.
