Tuesday, November, 30 marks the 10th occurrence of Giving Tuesday, and this year Stoneleigh-Burnham has set a goal of 100 gifts for the annual day of generosity.
Says Susan Mattei, the School’s Director of Development and Alumnae Relations, “Giving Tuesday is a wonderful opportunity for individuals to support the school and to build on their habit of generosity towards a school that has been instrumental in developing the voice of so many students.”
Development officers around the country also recognize that #GivingTuesday has become an opportunity to connect with younger alumnae.
Gifts made to the School during the Giving Tuesday event will be applied to the School’s Annual Fund, supporting programs such as financial aid, funding for arts and athletic programs, and resources for affinity groups, activities, and clubs.
As an added benefit, the Stoneleigh-Burnham Trustees have also pledged to triple all Annual Fund gifts up to a total of $125,000 through midnight, Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
“The generosity of our Trustees in matching these gifts is another example of our community’s commitment to the mission of girls’ education,” said Stephanie Luebbers, Head of School.
According to the GivingTuesday.com website, “GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. GivingTuesday was born and incubated at the 92nd Street Y and its Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact in New York City. GivingTuesday is now an independent nonprofit and a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.”
We invite you to support the mission of girls’ education by participating in GivingTuesday and donating [directly] to Stoneleigh-Burnham School.
