Shawn Durrett

Shawn Durrett earned a BA in English/ Creative Writing from Macalester College and an MFA in Poetry from the University of Michigan. During her time at Stoneleigh-Burnham she has taught English at every grade level in the Upper School, supervised Senior Projects and the Extended Essay requirement for the IB-diploma program, facilitated the annual publication of the School’s art and literary magazine, Minerva, Chaired the English department from 2009-2013, and read almost every college essay written by an SBS senior for the past decade. Her passions include postmodern and dystopian literature, poetry, and teaching writing. Shawn has been teaching at Stoneleigh-Burnham since 2003 and became the Dean of Faculty in 2013. She lives off campus with her family.
