Dr. Greg Snedeker has been the director of instrumental music at Stoneleigh-Burnham since 2006. He directs the Chamber, Big Band, and various other student music ensembles. He also teaches IB Music and Music Theory.
Greg has a diverse background as a performer, composer, audio engineer, and producer. He has recorded as a cellist, jazz pianist, composer, and electronic musician with many artists including the Pioneer Consort, Grammy award-winning saxophonist Yusef Lateef, Nashville fiddler Randy Howard, ZOHO artist Hilary Noble, and many Signature Sounds artists. As a composer, his music blends facets of contemporary classical, jazz, funk, and popular styles. His output includes pieces for orchestra, jazz ensemble, multi-media productions, interactive electronics, and more. His multi-media works for dance and visual arts have been performed around the U.S. at venues such as the Boston Ballet, UMass Fine Arts Center, The Academy of Music/Northampton, Central Washington University, and the University of Hartford, to name a few.
He also owns and operates Riverview Productions, a recording studio dedicated to producing and recording acoustic music. He holds a BA in economics from Boston University, a MM from UMass, Amherst and a DMA from the Hartt School, University of Hartford. He lives in Gill with his wife, Kathy, and daughter, Mia.
