Biology is a comprehensive, yearlong introductory course that includes: the variety of life on earth, workings of the cell, an introduction to genetics, evolution, and the dynamics between organisms in ecosystems. Throughout the course students examine the traits common to all life. A key feature of the Biology course is the practical application of class concepts to our lives, from the molecular to global scale. The course develops an understanding of the role humans play in the biosphere. Laboratory exercises are an integral part of the course.
