Dining at SBS
STONELEIGH-BURNHAM IS PROUD OF THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD IT PROVIDES TO OUR COMMUNITY.
We serve students, faculty, staff and, on occasion, guests of the school, and there is something for everyone (including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options). For breakfast, there are eggs, pancakes, tofu scramble, bagels, home fries, fresh fruit, and a cereal station. Lunch includes a salad bar and many hot options, including soups, that change daily. Dinner offerings include healthy options such as lasagna, chicken stir-fry, and more. Sunday brunch is a highlight with made-to-order omelets, waffles, french toast, and fresh fruit.
The chefs work to incorporate food from the various cultures represented at Stoneleigh-Burnham into the menu each week. Students feel more at home when they are able to share their culinary traditions. Our chefs are always willing to work with students who have food allergies or restrictions and work to clearly label the ingredients in our dining options.
There are a handful of formal dinners and several community dinners throughout the year, including the All School Cookout, the Junior Ring Ceremony, 100 Nights, Family Weekends, Farewell to Seniors. and Reunion. Dining Services also hosted the school’s 150th Anniversary Courtyard Dinner in the fall of 2019.
The Dining Hall itself is a warm and inviting space with large windows providing sunny spots overlooking the campus grounds. Wooden tables provide warmth and a homey feeling. There is open seating so students, faculty and staff are able to share meals together, fostering a sense of community and family. Parents and guardians may also order birthday cakes for their daughters throughout the year.
