Olamiposi “Olly” Ajao ’21 has won an all expenses paid trip to Booking.com’s Code-a-thon in San Francisco April 28-29 for young women interested in studying technology and pursuing a career in the industry.

The Code-a-thon is part of Booking.com’s Women in Tech programming, which aims to raise awareness about gender diversity in the workplace.

The Code-a-thon will be hosted at a state-of-the-art ‘SMART’ home in the heart of San Francisco, where 10 young women selected by a panel of judges at Booking.com will join an innovative two-day technology immersion. The Code-a-thon will help prepare participants for their future studies though coding classes, mentorship, hands-on training and more. It will culminate with a reception hosted by women empowerment activist and award winning actress Laura Dern.

Olly will be accompanied on the trip by faculty member Andrea Tehan Carnes, who teaches Olly’s AP Computer Science Principles course at SBS and encouraged her to apply. Congratulations, Olly!
