/SBS Debaters Compete at Choate

The Stoneleigh-Burnham Debate and Public Speaking Society competed in the Choate Invitational Tournament on Sunday, Jan. 21 at Choate Rosemary Hall.

The event included three rounds of parliamentary extemporaneous debate with straight resolutions and included novice and advanced divisions.

Jax Morgan ’19 was in the top ten of all speakers.  She was awarded 1st place in all of her rounds, and she and her teammate Ira Hysi ’20 had two wins and one loss.

Jackie Kennick ’19 was awarded 1st place in all of her rounds as well.  She and her partner Annamaria Robles ’19 went undefeated.

Mia Mullings ’20, at her very first tournament, had two wins with her partner, Olly Olamiposi ’21.  Mia was awarded top speaker in two rounds, and 2nd speaker in one.
