Students focus on Euclidian geometry, covering plane and solid figures. Topics include: definitions of points, lines and planes; measurement of angles and line segments; properties of circles, triangles and parallel lines; formulas for perimeter, area and volume. This course emphasizes real-life applications, word problems, and proofs of theorems and manipulation of shapes. The Geometer’s Sketchpad program is used extensively throughout the course.
Prerequisite: proficiency in Algebra 1.
Geometry Instructor: Roger Turton
