This week all Stoneleigh-Burnham students will be participating in an event to celebrate Computer Science Education Week, called the Hour of Code. This event is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics.

Coding is the computer language that allows us to create computer software, apps, and websites. There are many types of code (also known as programming languages). Students will be participating either in science classes, in their class meetings, or during a free period. Projects include using code to make music, color an exploding star, programming a virtual robot, creating a game, and building a website.

Click here for a short video explaining it a bit more. Other coding events will be available to students in the future in order to learn more and expand on their skills.
