The Fall Art Exhibition will feature the artwork of Leyden-based artist Alicia Hunsicker. The exhibition, titled “Transcendent,” will run September 24 through October 28 in Geissler Gallery at Stoneleigh-Burnham School. On Friday, October 2, Hunsicker will hold a gallery talk at 3 p.m., and there will be opening reception from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m., which is open to the public.
“Transcendent” will feature a selection of paintings and prints inspired by cutting edge science that addresses quantum energy and human consciousness as it intersects with the natural world.
“There is a profound beauty in nature’s forms,” Hunsicker said. “I am fascinated by these repeating patterns and see these forms as part of the framework of creation and a divine language showing our interconnectedness. I am particularly drawn to concepts being explored in Quantum Physics and how they relate to the energetic realms that directly impact our minds, bodies and consciousness.”
With a printmaking background, Hunsicker’s work crosses the boundaries of medium and technique, combining several methods to achieve her unique style of contemporary painting. This exhibit will provide a glimpse into the development of Hunsicker’s work over the last five years.
“My work reveals a cosmic discussion about the nature of all things,” Hunsicker said. “It fuses my interests in science, consciousness, and spirituality.”
Hunsicker earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Art at the University of Massachusetts in 1993, with concentration in printmaking and graphic design.
