The deadline to participate in an important new research study on adolescent girls has been extended to October 26. The research is being conducted later this month at SBS in partnership withRachel Simmons, bestselling author and Research Director at Girls Leadership, and the Department of Psychology at Vassar College.

Rachel will be on our campus, so our students will have the exciting opportunity to meet her and work with her. We have been fortunate to have a wonderful connection with Rachel. Last fall, she led a workshop on healthy risk-taking here at SBS, and she returned in the spring for discussions about college pressure, social media, and what it takes to be a girl today.

Participation is limited to Upper School students and is completely voluntary. With your consent, your child will be asked to complete a short questionnaire that should take about 30 minutes. Her responses will be completely anonymous.

The results of this study will help provide educators and parents with concrete strategies to empower girls ages 14-18, at our school and elsewhere.

If you are interested, please print, read, and sign this consent form, and return it by Monday, October 26, 2015 to:
