Stoneleigh-Burnham School proudly reports that generous alumnae, parents, and friends donated over $1 million during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020.
“Thanks to our generous donors, the Annual Fund had its second highest year ever,” said Susan Mattei, director of development and alumnae relations. “As we navigated from our 150th Anniversary through adapting quickly to remote learning this spring, SBS donors were there for us every step of the way.”
The Annual Fund partially fills the gap between what tuition covers and the full cost of a SBS education. Mattei said the positive fundraising year was sparked in part by a Board of Trustees matching gift in the fall and a $70,000 matching gift in the spring that was offered by members of the 50th Reunion Class of 1970. The positive year’s outcome and outpouring of support amid the coronavirus pandemic made an exceptionally positive impact on the School.
In addition to the Annual Fund, donors supported capital projects including renovations to the Geissler Gallery Building, additions to the Fitness Center, repairs to the Equestrian Center indoor riding arena, and the construction of new paddocks at the Equestrian Center.
