“Dorothy and Her Adventures in Oz.”    
The Community Dance Concert on Saturday, May 4th was a great success and lots of fun. This year, the theme was “Dorothy and Her Adventures in Oz.” The performers included 25 children who are students in our outreach dance program.
Claire L. '16 and Victoria S. K. '17 Win 2 out of 3 at Debate Tournament    
On May 5, 2013, the SBS Debate and Public Speaking Society competed at the Parliamentary Extemporaneous Tournament at Deerfield Academy. As a team in the novice division, Claire L. '16 and Victoria S. K. '17 won 2 out of 3 rounds. 
Emily Hewlings '12 awarded Graeme Clark Scholarship    
Recent alumna Emily Hewlings '12 was one of five students in North America awarded the Graeme Clark Scholarship from Cochlear Americas. 
Annual Student Art Exhibit    
Our Annual Student Art Exhibition opens on Friday, April 26, with a reception from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. in Geissler Gallery.
Junior Jane L. '14 returns from World Debate Championship    
Earlier in April, Jane L. '14 competed with the US team at the World Individual Debate and Public Speaking Championship at Clifton School in South Africa.
Aracelis Girmay and Poetry Contest winners read at SBS Poetry Festival    
Our annual Poetry Festival will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Winners of the SBS Poetry Contest and guest poet Aracelis Girmay will read at the Festival, which is held in the Capen Room.  Parents and families are encouraged to attend. 
8th grade trip to Washington, DC    
SBS Eighth-graders spent Thursday April 4th until Sunday April 7th touring the nation's capitol.

Junior National Synchronized Skating Team visits SBS    
On Wednesday March 27th, two members of the Junior National Synchronized Skating team from New Jersey will visit Stoneleigh-Burnham School.

Stoneleigh-Burnham School is sponsoring a screening of an incredible new film, Girl Rising, at the Greenfield Garden Cinema on Thursday, March 28th at 7:30 p.m. 
Where is SBS during Spring Break?    
While many students are around the world spending time with their families during Spring Break, ten students traveled to China with teachers Sara Tsou and Andre Tehan-Carnes.

Charlotte M. '16 recently guest blogged at Twitter Youth Feminist Army's Blog, JellyPop. In honor of International Women's Day on March 8th, she wrote about the Women's Film Series organized by Mary P. '13 and her experience watching "Iron Jawed Angels."
Junior Caroline L. Finishes 2nd Place in the Statewide American Legion Oratorical Competition    
After winning both the district-level and zone-level American Legion Oratorical Competitions this spring, junior Caroline L. competed in the state-level competition in Boston on March 3rd.
Rachel G. '13 Investigates Equine Therapy for Senior Project    
After experiencing firsthand the therapeutic potential of interaction with horses, Rachel G. '13 elected to take on a Senior Project focused on hippotherapy - a form of therapy using horses to improve neuromotor function without the teaching of riding skills. Rachel presented on her project and findings for the school community on February 28th at 6:30 p.m. in the Capen Room.
Multicultural Club & the International Program Sponsor Europe Week    
This week, we celebrate Europe Week, the third in a series of six International Weeks organized by continent, when international students share their diverse cultures with the SBS community.
Varsity Basketball Team to Compete in the NEPSAC Tournament    
For the first time since 2005, the Stoneleigh-Burnham Varsity Basketball team has been selected as one of the eight teams to compete in the Class C New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) tournament.
Caroline L. '14 Wins Zone Finals of the American Legion Oratorical Competition    
After winning the district-level American Legion Oratorical Competition in January, Caroline L. '14 qualified for and won the zone-level competition held at Holyoke Community College on February 16th. Her win has qualified Caroline for the state-level competition to be held in Boston on March 3rd.
SBS Presents Performance of "The Tempest" - PLAY TIMES HAVE ADJUSTED DUE TO PREDICTED WINTER STORM    
Stoneleigh-Burnham School theater students will put on a production of William Shakespeare’s “The Tempest.” The public is invited to attend evening performances on Friday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, February 23 at 11:30 a.m., and on Sunday, February 24 at 4 p.m. in Emerson Hall.
Varsity Basketball Wins RVAL Championship    
For a second year in a row, the Varsity Basketball team has earned the River Valley Athletic League Championship with their 52-28 win over Putney School on Thursday, February 14th.
Fifteen SBS Riders Qualify for IEA Zone 1 Region 7 Finals    
Ten upper school students and five middle school students from the Stoneleigh-Burnham Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) teams have qualified to compete in the Zone 1, Region 7 Finals to be held at Stoneleigh-Burnham on March 2nd.
